New Jersey native and former professional goalkeeper, Kris Cherry, has been an integral member of the Paul Blodgett Goalkeeper Training School staff for several years. Kris graduated from Franklin High School in 1996 where he played his varsity soccer; he earned an honorable mention as one of the top 51 high school players at the time. Kris went on to play his collegiate soccer at St. Francis College (Division 1, NEC Conference) where he was named the team’s Most Valuable Player.

After college, Cherry was a reserve for the Metrostars of the MLS (now the NY Red Bulls). He then went on to play with the Doncaster Rovers, Championship league of England and finally to Tonegido (1st Klasse and Hoofdklasse) where he played professionally in Holland.

Paul on Kris:

“I worked with Kris for several years during his run through the professional leagues. Kris is a superb athlete who worked very hard on his craft and obtained professional status ultimately in Holland. I am very glad to have Kris on our staff – he thoroughly knows our methods since he came up through the ranks as a dedicated member of the PBGKTS. He is an excellent teacher of the position, and his professional experience will be invaluable for our keepers.”
